Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in a meeting on Monday with Swiss Ambassador to Iran Markus Leitner stressing the need for the acceleration of the process of sending humanitarian aids to the war-ravaged country.
Beginning the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian appreciated Switzerland's stance regarding the recent remarks made by the President of the United States about the relocation of the Zionist capital to al-Quds.
He described the consequences of such measures in the region to intensify the insecurity and, of course, the unity of most of the Palestinian groups; he reiterated that “good relations between Iran and Switzerland are essential for the strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries in various areas, especially in parliamentary affairs."
Referring to Bahrain and Yemen's issues in the region, Amir-Abdollahian added the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the adoption of a political solution to Yemen's conflicts, while at the same time stressing the need for the acceleration of the process of sending humanitarian aids to the war-stricken country."
Al-Khalifa has widened the gap between the government and the people, taking a military and security approach, he said adding “we are expecting Switzerland as a country sponsoring human rights issues, to better understand the conditions in the country.
Markus Leitner, for his part, said Switzerland is interested in expanding bilateral relations and improving cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, while calling for better use of existing capacities between the two countries.
Referring to the importance of parliaments in the two countries, he noted Switzerland is interested in expanding parliamentary relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a stable country in the region.
