US responsible for Yemeni official assassination

Tehran,(Defapress) Mohammad Hussein Al-Mashat made the remarks Wednesday during the oath-taking ceremony, Yemeni TV Channel ‘Al Masirah’ reported.

Saudi Arabia under the support of the US and with the US-made weapons killed the Yemeni official, he said.

Saudis are now more similar to Daesh and Al-Qaeda terrorists, he added.

“The Supreme Political Council announced in its meeting on Monday the martyrdom of President Saleh Al-Sammad,” Yemeni media SANA reported in a statement.

“In the meeting, the Council members approved the selection of Mahdi Mohammad Hussein Al-Mashat as President of the Council for the next session in accordance with the Council’s internal regulation,” the statement reads.

Saudi Arabia and its regional allies attacked Yemen in March 2015 to bring back to power the deposed president of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the attacks by the Saudi-US coalition and more than 2,000 have died due to a cholera epidemic.

Saudis, in their latest war crime in Yemen, bombarded a wedding party in Hajjah and killed dozens of innocent civilians, including children.
