Formation of the parliament and the subsequent formation of the new government is expected to help the progress of the country and give a boost to brotherly ties between Iran and Iraq, the statement said.
Iraq's 4th parliamentary election was held across the country on May 12, the final results of which are expected to be announced within 48 hours after vote casting time came to an end.
Some 44.52% out of the total 24 million people eligible to vote participated in the elections.
