TEHRAN (Defapress) –The Yemeni Air Force has launched an attack on Al-Jumhuriya palace in the province of Ma’rib, which was hosting a meeting of commanders of the Saudi-led military coalition, al-Ahed news website quoted a military source as saying.
According to the source, the fugitive former president of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who benefits support from Saudi Arabia, has been also in the gathering.
A number of people have been killed and injured in the attack, the source added.
The airstrike came after the Yemeni forces attacked a Saudi Aramco refinery in Riyadh, in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure in the Saudi-led military campaign.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have been killed in the invasion.
