Lavrov Warns West Not to Play with Fire’ in Syria
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem warned western powers “not to play with fire” in Syria during a press conference in Moscow.
TEHRAN (Defapress)- “With facts in our disposal through Defense Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs we clearly and sternly warned our western partners not to play with fire,” Lavrov said regarding any possible provocation using chemical weapons.
Russia’s top diplomat added that the West’s meddling in OPCW investigation process of two previous cases of using chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun and Ghouta was a violation of Chemical Weapons Convention.
Muallem stated that the USA was a loser from military perspective and is now trying to take advantage of the situation.
