At a ceremony on Sunday, commemorating the 14th death anniversary of Yasser Arafat in Ramallah in the West Bank, Mahmoud Abbas rejected the US plan called the Deal of the Century and once again stressed the need for establishing an independent Palestinian state with the holy al-Quds as its capital.
We will firmly stay here and we will keep being a thorn in their side, he said.
Abbas said the deal of the century is a plot and the Zionist regime of Israel is behind it.
US President Donald Trump has engineered the plan claiming it will bring peace to Palestine. He has promised economic development for Gaza if Palestinians concede control over al-Quds.
On October 12, 2004, Arafat's disease hit the headlines. He died on November 11. The doctors failed to determine the underlying cause of his illness. Unconfirmed reports, however suggested he was poisoned by the Zionist regime.
