TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the Kurdistan 24, Majid Takht Ravanchi made this statement on Monday at a joint press conference with Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, in Erbil, the capital of the region.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran emphasized that he had very good talks with the officials of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region during his visit to Erbil.
Expressing his happiness and gratitude for the generous reception in Erbil, he said that constructive talks were held with the officials of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
Takht Ravanchi stated: We have many points in common with the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and these commonalities help develop relations between Erbil and Tehran.
Referring to the existence of coordination between Tehran and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in various fields, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran emphasized the development of economic relations between the 2 sides.
Regarding the issues discussed by the 2 sides, Takht Ravanchi referred to some of the issues he discussed in Erbil, including security issues, and said: "The security of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region is part of Iran's security, and we must always coordinate with each other to confront challenges."
The Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs also met in Baghdad on Sunday with Qassem Al-Araji, the Iraqi National Security Advisor, and Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the Deputy Speaker of the country's Parliament, and discussed and exchanged views on common issues of concern to the two countries.
