TEHRAN (Defapress) - General Giora Eiland, the architect of the Israeli project known as the "Generals' Plan" to clear Gaza, emphasized that Israel has failed to achieve the goals of the war in the Gaza Strip.
Israel has failed to destroy Hamas rule, create conditions in which Gaza is no longer a threat to the regime, and return settlers to the Gaza suburbs.
The former head of the Israeli Internal Security Council stated that the only goal that has been partially achieved during the one and a half years of the war in Gaza is the return of a number of prisoners.
Stating that there are still 59 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, some of whom are alive, he said that the return of these prisoners seems out of reach as one of the main goals of the war.
Earlier, Israel's Channel 12 reported that security agencies estimate that Hamas still has dozens of rockets with a range of about 45 kilometers and hundreds of shorter-range missiles.
Yesterday, the Qassam Brigades fired about 10 rockets at occupied cities, including Ashkelon, causing casualties and injuring several Zionists.
