Occupying Syrian Territory Despite Damascus’ Talks with Tel Aviv

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Ma’an, Syria Today reported that the Zionist regime has dispatched dozens of its soldiers to occupy Syrian border lands around Jabal al-Sheikh.

The report states that the Zionist regime’s action is a violation of Syrian sovereignty and a threat to regional security.

This comes at a time when Tel Aviv and Damascus are negotiating with the mediation of the United States regarding tensions in southern Syria. Damascus hopes to reach a security agreement with Tel Aviv.

Zionist troops have been deployed near strategic heights overlooking Beit Jinn, a region in southern Syria near the Lebanese border. In addition, the Zionist occupiers have kidnapped 6 Syrian citizens in the area.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that this action constitutes a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional security and peace.
