Ansar Allah's Reaction to the UAE and Saudi Arabia's Movements in Southern Yemen

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al-Mayadeen, Brigadier General Abed bin Muhammad al-Thawr, one of the officials of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, emphasized: Sanaa is closely monitoring the developments in southern Yemen and opposes any aggression against this country.

He added: What is happening in southern Yemen is an Emirati-Saudi conspiracy on the orders of the United States and the Zionist regime.

Al-Thawr stated that Saudi Arabia wants to take control of Hadhramaut province to transport oil from this country through the Arabian Sea.

He clarified: The UAE is also seeking control over the ports of southern Yemen.

It should be noted that clashes between Emirati and Saudi mercenaries in the eastern and southern regions of Yemen have intensified for weeks. These clashes were so severe that the United States has also expressed concern about the deepening of the rift between these mercenaries.

The provinces of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah in eastern Yemen have become a major flashpoint in the rivalry between UAE and Saudi mercenaries. The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has taken control of oil-rich areas, a move that has met with a Saudi response, with Saudi Arabia demanding that the STC withdraw its forces from Hadramaut and Al-Mahra and reduce tensions.

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) was formed in 2017 with the direct support of the UAE and has had deep disagreements with the self-proclaimed Yemeni government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia, from the very beginning. These disagreements have led to armed clashes in Aden and other southern regions in recent years.
