TEHRAN (Defapress) - The "J-20" fighter is one of the most powerful and new-generation fighters in the Chinese Army, and there has been speculation about the sale of this fighter jet to some countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The J-20 fighter jet is a Chinese fifth-generation fighter designed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry to conduct aerial missions and attack enemy infrastructure and fortifications. This advanced fighter entered operational service in China Air Force in 2017.
The fifth-generation fighter, the J-20, is known as one of the most advanced fighters in the world and is a tough competitor to fifth-generation fighters such as the F-22 and F-35 of the United States Air Force. This fighter is also a symbol of the technological advancements of China's defense industry.
The Stratfor website says in this regard: If we look at the flight history of this advanced fighter, we see that two Chinese fifth-generation fighters with a specific design flew in the sky of this country on November 1, 2016, officially marking the first appearance of China's new J-20 fighter jet. This warplane is one of the few fifth-generation fighters in the world, and its emergence is a symbol of the significant progress of the Chinese Air Force in the past two decades. However, the design of this invisible (stealth) fighter has weaknesses that the Ministry of Defense and the People's Republic of China's army are seeking to address.

The J-20 fighter jet is primarily a heavy and long-range air hunter; its main focus is also to gain and maintain air superiority, intercept distant targets (such as reconnaissance and refueling aircraft), and penetrate enemy airspace; Its larger size indicates a longer operational range and possibly a larger internal volume for in-flight fuel storage and the presence of advanced radar systems to hunt hostile targets.
Global Security, showing a schematic image of the J-20 fighter, says: China is looking to upgrade the capabilities of the J-20 fighter. The website adds: Various classes of this fighter, including the Black Eagle, Mighty Dragon, and Black Silk, are in service with the People's Republic of China Air Force. With a length of more than 21 meters, a wingspan of about 13 meters, an average speed of Mach 2.5 (more than 3,000 kilometers per hour), and an operational range of 2,000 kilometers, this fighter has a special place among the world's new generation fighters.
