Secret of Iran's Resistance Against the World's Top Military Power
TEHRAN (Defapress) – Mohammad Zarchini - Nearly 100 days have passed since the beginning of the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against our country, and every day, new details of this war emerge. The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in this unequal war, stood with all their might against the terrorist army of the United States and the Zionist regime, inflicting reciprocal and irreparable blows upon them, particularly on US bases and interests in the region.
According to field source reports, several US military bases in the region were destroyed; reports indicate that at least 13 US military bases sustained between 40% and 80% damage, and American forces in the West Asia region were relocated to hotels and civilian camps.
But the question that arises is: How did the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran stand firm against the powerful military of the United States, which has a budget of over one trillion dollars, and did not collapse like the army of the Ba'athist Iraqi regime? Various reasons can be cited for this, including the use of missile and drone capabilities instead of conventional forces, the leverage of managing the Strait of Hormuz, widespread public support in defending the country, and the solidarity of regional resistance forces in defending Iran.
1- Using Missile and Drone Power to Counter the US Army
One of the reasons Iran, unlike Iraq, was not defeated in the war against the United States was its use of an asymmetric warfare strategy to counter the US military. In the 2003 war against Iraq, the US army, by launching hundreds of sea-to-surface Tomahawk missiles, sought to crush the classical infrastructure of the Iraqi army and did so with great force. Following this military action, the US army invaded Iraq on the ground, first capturing the port city of Umm Qasr, beginning its domination of Iraq, and ultimately capturing Baghdad in less than 20 days. The United States Army implemented almost all the scenarios it had used in Iraq (such as heavy bombardment of military infrastructure and launching Tomahawk missiles) against Iran as well, but it failed to achieve its objectives. Why? Because after these attacks, Iran, with overwhelming force, launched ground-to-ground missiles at US military bases. These attacks were so shocking for the United States that its president was astonished by the heavy strikes of the Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces on its bases; this was, in fact, the element of Iran's defensive power that was put into action on the field, something American officials had never even imagined encountering with such intensity.
2- Utilizing the Strategic Advantage of Managing the Strait of Hormuz
Managing the strategic Strait of Hormuz is another option that Iran, unlike Iraq, possesses in this war and utilizes in the best possible way. The Iraqi navy had no special capability in the war against the United States and suffered heavy damage from a few US attacks. However, Iran, in this asymmetric war, has been able to take control of the management of the Strait of Hormuz and thereby manage the global economy by utilizing its swift boats, anti-ship ballistic missiles, and swarm of suicide drones (of course, the US has also carried out many destructive actions through a naval blockade of Iranian ports, but ultimately, the upper hand lies with the strategic management of the Strait of Hormuz, i.e., the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran).
3- Solidarity of Regional Countries in Supporting Iran
The US army, in its war against Iraq, did not face a barrier in the form of solidarity and support from regional countries for a specific nation (Iraq), and it captured Iraq by bombing infrastructure and launching a ground military invasion. However, during the Ramadan War, the people of the region, particularly in Bahrain and Iraq, uniformly supported the Iranian nation and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. For example, in the early days of the war, when the mercenary and criminal Al Khalifa regime, by granting land and facilities to the US, was encouraging that country to attack Iran, the oppressed people of Bahrain encouraged Iran through their support. Among these acts of support was capturing images to reveal the locations of American soldiers or military equipment in Bahrain. For instance, one Bahraini citizen shared the location of US Army HIMARS missile systems hidden under a bridge with the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In another video, when Iran struck one of the strategic radars of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain, this same Bahraini citizen live-streamed the moment the missile hit that radar at the Fifth Fleet base.
4- Resistance Forces Standing Alongside Iran Against the United States
In the recent war, the Islamic resistance forces of Lebanon and Iraq, alongside Iran, participated in the war against the US army and the occupying Zionist regime and inflicted heavy blows on this powerful army. It would be no exaggeration to say that dozens of daily drone attacks were carried out by the Iraqi Islamic Resistance (PMF) against US bases in the region. Even the US Army's Victoria Base was monitored daily and struck with high precision using the Iraqi resistance's several-hundred-dollar quadcopters. Furthermore, the fighters of Lebanese Hezbollah bravely and courageously engaged the Zionist enemy, inflicting heavy blows upon the Zionist regime during the Ramadan War and surprising the enemy on the battlefield.
Although Iran has suffered some military damage in the war with the United States, it has shown that it stands firmly and decisively against America. This very fact has caused the hearts of people to beat for Iran, and even Americans on social media have praised the Iranian nation and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran by sharing videos.
