National Security and Dignity Are Not Negotiable or Conditional, and the Inherent Right to Self-Defense Is Not a Matter for Discussion

TEHRAN (Defapress) - In response to the interventionist statement by the US and Persian Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary of State on June 25, 2026, Esmail Baghaei, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, wrote on X: Without a doubt, Iran is more concerned about the collective security of the region than any other party. For the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council to think that the solution to resolving this concern is to seek refuge in the biggest security violator is itself a violation of the purpose, a bitter irony, and a disappointing sign of the failure to learn from recent bitter experiences.

The southern neighbors should be asked why they themselves, in violation of the principle of good neighborliness and the fundamental rules of international law, joined in the aggressive attack against their Muslim neighbor and allowed their territory to be used against Iran or to be fired from there?

Why do they turn a blind eye to the destructive arms race and the purchase and storage of hundreds of billions of dollars in advanced weapons that have no defense justification?

Why do they ignore the Zionist regime’s repeated aggression against the countries of the region and the occupation of the Palestinian and Lebanese territories?

Why do they remain silent about the occupying regime’s nuclear arsenal, which is outside any international supervision, but the conventional defense capabilities of a country that has repeatedly been the target of threats and attacks from the territory of neighboring countries are presented as a “threat”?

It should be clear to everyone that Iran’s military capabilities guarantee the inherent right of the Iranian nation to legitimate defense against aggression and crime, and at the same time ensure peace and stability in the region.

The country’s national security and dignity are not negotiable or conditional; Just as the inherent right to self-defense cannot be a subject of discussion, its means cannot be a subject of compromise with any party.
