EX-Swedish PM dismisses Netanyahu anti-JCPOA attemptsTehran (Defapress)-“Israel PM [Benjamin] Netanyahu goes all out in US media in his effort to derail the Iran nuclear deal. But he still has no smoking gun,” Bildt wrote on his Twitter account.

“Nothing really new in Netanyahu Iran speech. Confirms that Iran closed down nuclear weapons program in 2003. Continued technology efforts. In principle all of this well known. No allegation that Iran cheats on 2015 nuclear deal,” he added.

Netanyahu claimed Israel has obtained 'Iran’s secret files' which reveal it is still pursuing nuclear weapons program secretly even after the JCPOA came into effect.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif compared Netanyahu to a liar shepherd who wants to tell lies over Iran’s nuclear drive.

UN nuclear watchdog IAEA has on several occasions verified peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program under the JCPOA, to which Iran has remained committed since it went into force.

The JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the official name of the agreement reached between Iran and six world major powers in 2015 to give Tehran sanctions relief in return for scaling back its nuclear program.
