Iranian embassy censures BBC for blocking Gaza humanitarian appeal

TEHRAN (Defapress) - In a statement posted on its official X account, the embassy referenced a report from The Guardian, which indicated that some individuals believe the BBC is "blocking" the appeal due to fears of backlash from pro-Israel supporters amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

The embassy emphasized that "the situation is clear and requires no further clarification; they will not even permit a humanitarian appeal to be presented in the media."

This appeal was initiated by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

According to The Guardian, the BBC has asserted that the appeal did not fulfill all the necessary criteria for a national appeal. Meanwhile, other channels have consented to broadcast the appeal, as noted by The Guardian.
