TEHRAN (Defapress) - Continuing Zelensky's efforts to reduce tensions with the US, he will travel to Saudi Arabia today and meet and talk with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to Reuters, bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States have been seriously damaged following Zelensky's controversial meeting with US President Donald Trump and his vice president.
Trump and his vice president, J.D. Vance, have repeatedly targeted the Ukrainian president with their attacks and taunts. He accused Zelensky of "gambling with the lives of millions of people" and said his actions could start World War III. Media reports indicated that Trump then expelled Zelensky and his entourage from the White House.
The White House then canceled military aid to Ukraine and also suspended intelligence cooperation with Kiev.
Negotiations to improve bilateral relations are scheduled to take place in Riyadh, and Zelensky traveled to Saudi Arabia before they began.
He stated that he would not participate in the negotiations and that Ukraine's representatives would be his chief of staff, the ministers of defense and foreign affairs, and another senior military official.
