TEHRAN (Defapress) - The most recent crime of the Zionists—the attack on Al-Mamadani Hospital and its savage bombardment, one of the last functioning hospitals in the Gaza Strip—has been met with widespread reactions and strong condemnations from countries around the world. This atrocity is a clear example of the ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza.

The Zionist Regime's Crime in Al-Mamadani

Just hours after this inhumane crime, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad, on one side, along with regional and global countries, including Qatar, on the other, expressed deep concern over the attack on Al-Mamadani Hospital and vehemently condemned this barbaric act by the Zionist regime.

The Zionist regime’s deliberate and targeted attacks on hospitals and medical centers in Gaza, as well as the killing of hundreds of Palestinian doctors, nurses, and medical personnel over the past year and a half, are clear signs of its savage, terrorist nature—a regime that seeks nothing but the slaughter and genocide of Palestinians, especially the people of Gaza.

Over the past 18 months, under the guise of the Gaza war, the Zionist regime has prioritized attacks on Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure as part of its terrorist and inhumane agenda. This has led to severe and dangerous healthcare crises for the people of Gaza. The situation is so dire that, according to international organizations, Gaza is experiencing a critical collapse in medical services.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency Shehab reported that the emergency department of Al-Ma’amadani Hospital was destroyed in the attack, with significant damage to its reception, laboratory, and pharmacy. According to Palestinian sources in Gaza, the hospital is now in a catastrophic state.

Another critical aspect that highlights the gravity of this Zionist terrorist attack is that Al-Mamadani Hospital was one of the main hospitals in northern Gaza. Tragically, after this illegal and occupying regime’s missile strike, it has been rendered non-operational.

Sigrid Kaag, the UN’s Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator, pointed to the Zionist regime’s deliberate attacks on Gaza’s medical infrastructure, stating that Israel’s inhumane assaults have forced Gaza’s hospitals to shut down one after another.

But this is not the end. The complete siege of Gaza by the Zionist regime’s army has prevented the entry of drinking water, food, and medical supplies, creating an extremely dire and tragic situation. Amid this, the severe shortage of medical equipment and supplies has placed Gaza’s people, especially the war-wounded, in a deadly and perilous state.

What has drawn global attention in the Zionist regime’s systematic and organized attacks on Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure is its blatant violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.

It is no secret that the Zionist regime’s goal in attacking Gaza’s hospitals and medical centers is to weaken Palestinian resistance by targeting healthcare facilities. Moreover, through such actions, the regime seeks to degrade the logistical and support capabilities of resistance groups as much as possible.

As experts and analysts of the Gaza war have noted, the Zionist regime’s bombing of medical infrastructure is also an attempt to spread terror among Gaza’s people, exert psychological pressure on the resistance, and force it into surrender.

In the end, the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure constitute an organized crime that has not only exacerbated the humanitarian crisis but also completely eroded the regime’s global legitimacy. Therefore, the international community must abandon its double standards and take decisive, targeted action to stop these atrocities.
