Tel Aviv's Starvation War Against Gazans

TEHRAN (Defapress) - As we continue to witness the ongoing war on Gaza and the Israeli regime's attacks and aggressions against this strip, the United Nations in one of its latest reports has stated that by tightening the siege on Gaza and preventing the entry of food, fuel and medicine, the Israeli regime has in fact launched a starvation war against Gaza residents alongside its military campaign.

In this regard, yesterday Michael Fakhri, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food, by compiling and publishing a shocking report, announced that the Israeli regime has blocked all entry routes to Gaza and prevented food from entering this strip. This rapporteur revealed that the Israeli regime has completely destroyed food sources inside Gaza and this action is a clear disregard for international law.

But what is horrifying and shocking is part of the UN Special Rapporteur's article which pointed out that Palestinians, especially Gazans, have been living under a starvation policy imposed by the Israeli regime for about 20 years. Moreover, this situation has become much more severe and difficult after the start of the Gaza war, and we are now witnessing the worst famine and most widespread hunger in the contemporary history of Gaza.

On the other hand, since the beginning of the Gaza war, and especially in recent months, the Israeli regime has inhumanely prevented humanitarian aid from entering this strip. The current situation is such that Palestinians and Gazans, while deprived of proper shelter, must also struggle with shortages or in some cases complete lack of necessary and adequate food.

However, this is not the whole story and the NPR news agency reported in an article that the daily looting of aid belonging to Gaza in areas under Israel's control even happens at this regime's checkpoints. This issue is so common that videos of aid theft are widely shared on social media.

An important and sensitive issue in this regard is the publication of reports that narrate how in recent months thousands of tons of UN aid have been stolen by armed Zionist groups. The reason for this is that the security of Palestinian routes and crossings is in the hands of Zionist forces.

But another important issue that indicates the imposition of a starvation war against Gazans is the stopping of food and medicine trucks at Gaza's borders. Furthermore, other reports indicate that the Israeli regime's army has in several cases tried to target food trucks heading to Gaza in its military attacks in order to destroy the food supplies sent to Gazans and eliminate them.

Another inhumane and anti-humanitarian action that the Israeli regime is taking against Gazans is the theft of relief and humanitarian aid destined for Gaza. Zionist elements and soldiers, in a planned and targeted operation, steal humanitarian shipments bound for Gaza by targeting the distributors of this aid.

On the other hand, the Israeli regime's army, using reconnaissance drones, monitors all movements of trucks heading to Gaza and thus has all movements of relief and aid vehicles destined for Gaza under its control, thereby creating very serious and severe disruption in the path of aid delivery to Gazans.

And finally, the imposition of a starvation war against the steadfast and resilient people of Gaza has created very difficult and harsh conditions for the people of this strip, and accordingly, it is incumbent upon all relief institutions and organizations to pressure the leaders and officials of the Israeli regime to lift the unjust and inhumane siege on Gaza.
