China's Opposition to Trump's Tariff Threats Against Iran's Trading Partners

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to France 24, the Chinese government has clearly stated its opposition to any tariff threats from the US government against countries cooperating economically with Iran.

Trump previously announced that any country doing business with Iran would be subject to a 25% tariff.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Mao Ning, at a press conference yesterday in response to the US President's threats against Iran, stated: Beijing opposes interference in the internal affairs of other countries and the use of force or threats in international relations.

He added: "We believe that the sovereignty and security of all countries should be fully maintained with the help of international law."

Mao Ning, noting that Beijing is closely monitoring the situation in Iran, added: "We are confident that Tehran will overcome its problems and maintain the stability of the country."
