TEHRAN (Defapress) - Martyr "Hassan Pam" was a teenage diver of the 31st Ashura Division who was martyred in Operation Karbala 4. "Mohammad Bagher Barzegar" is another teenage diver of the Vali-Asr (May God hasten his reappearence) Battalion of this division. He learned diving at the age of 15 and participated in the amphibious operations Karbala 4 and 5. One of his memories relates to the moment of martyrdom of the 16-year-old diver, Martyr Hassan Pam, a diver who was dying before his eyes in the waters of the Arvand River while he could do nothing to save his comrade.
Mohammad Bagher Barzegar narrates the scene:
"Martyr 'Hassan Pam' had joined the Ashura Division from Maku County in West Azerbaijan Province. On the night of Operation Karbala 4, he was moving ahead of me.
Around 11 p.m., an enemy bullet hit the left side of his body. He was bleeding heavily from his wounds. I could hear him calling out 'O, Hossein (AS)' and 'O, Zahra (SA).' On one hand, he was calling upon Eminance Zahra (SA) due to the pain he was enduring, and on the other, he was worried about the operation being compromised.
Of course, at that time, while we were in the Arvand River, we didn’t know that the operation had been exposed. The enemy’s heavy fire on the Arvand was not unexpected for us either. The severity of Martyr Pam’s injuries and blood loss was such that he couldn’t make it out of the Arvand alive.
In that situation, to prevent the operation from being compromised, he submerged his head underwater. After a few moments, I saw his body surface. In those conditions, the only thing I could do was move his body to a place where I could retrieve it after the operation.
So, I took him near the solar wire obstacles and tied his clothes to the wires. On my way back, I reached the solar wire obstacles to retrieve Martyr 'Hassan Pam’s' body, but due to the tidal conditions of the Arvand River, the water had risen, and I couldn’t find Hassan’s body.
After these operations, Martyr Pam’s family waited a long time for their son’s return. Since I had witnessed his martyrdom, I informed the Ashura Division, and they relayed the news of Hassan’s martyrdom and disappearance to his family.
Several years later, Hassan Pam’s body was found at the end of the Arvand River. I suspect the water had carried Martyr Pam’s body from the Arvand toward the Persian Gulf. Given that there was a mesh barrier between the Arvand and the Persian Gulf, the body had remained there."
Martyr Hassan Pam also left a will, in which he wrote:
"O martyr-nurturing nation, obey the commands of the beloved Imam, for he shows the path to salvation. Do not abandon the front. Perform your prayers, for prayer keeps one away from immorality. Always and in all circumstances, remember God and consider Him the witness of your deeds, for if you do so, you will sin less.
My dear brothers, I ask you not to lay down my weapon but to take it up and fight the enemies of Islam and the Quran on whatever front you are.
Dear Mom and Dad, I thank you for raising me well. You have returned the divine trust to Him in the best way.
My sisters, observe your hijab, be patient in hardships and calamities, and live like Eminance Zainab (SA)."
