Situation of Palestinian Prisoners Is Critical
TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement issued a statement this Saturday evening on the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Khader Adnan, while celebrating the lasting legacy of this captured commander, and warned about the critical and unprecedented situation of Palestinian prisoners in the custody of the Zionist regime.

The Islamic Jihad Movement emphasized in this statement: "On the third anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Khader Adnan, we honor the memory of one of the prominent symbols of the national movement and the standard-bearers of the resistance; the one who started the 'empty stomachs' battle (food strike) and shook the pillars of the occupation prisons."
The movement noted that after three years, Sheikh Khader’s jihadi and combative legacy is still alive and vibrant in the bodies of the mujahideen, inspiring them in their confrontation with torturers and solitary confinement.
The statement continued: “With his historic hunger strike, Sheikh Khader Adnan displayed the height of dignity and invincible will against the brutality of the prison guards. He took his emaciated body to the field and turned his empty intestines and entrails into a weapon against the machine of repression to prove to the world that faith and will, even with chained hands, are capable of victory.”
Referring to the current conditions of the prisoners, PIJ warned about the criminal policies of the Zionist regime’s cabinet and announced: “Today, we commemorate this tall national figure at a time when the suffering of the prisoners has intensified in an unprecedented way. They are faced with the decisions of war criminals in the occupying government to execute prisoners; A decision that means the official transition to the stage of “organized genocide” behind bars.”
The statement adds: “In front of the eyes of the world, the occupiers have turned prisons into 'human slaughterhouses' that surpass the atrocities of Nazi concentration camps. This is an act aimed at challenging all international conventions and customs and ignoring the lives of heroes whose will for freedom will never fail.”
The Islamic Jihad Movement concluded by strongly criticizing the inaction of the international community and emphasizing: “Arab and global silence in the face of the crimes of the occupiers will never prevent our nation from continuing the resistance. The cause of the prisoners will remain at the top of our nation’s jihadi priorities and one of the most prominent goals of the Resistance.”
