Palestinians to Continue ‘Great March of Return’ Protests Today

TEHRAN (Defapress) –Davoud Shihab, who is also a member of the “National Council of the Great March of Return”, said the massive demonstrations will be held today under the title "Gaza and the West Bank - one blood and a shared destiny”, the Arabic-language Palestine al-Yawm reported.

He further emphasized that the demonstration would be a challenge to the Israeli occupiers.

Shihab added that the Friday rallies aim to send a defiant message to Israel, a message of steadfastness and determination to continue the rallies, which have gained an important achievement.

He went on to say that the demonstration would also convey a message of Palestinian unity against plots to harm the Palestinian issue.

Since March 30, Israeli troops have killed at least 129 Palestinians during mass demonstrations dubbed the "Great March of Return" along the Gaza border.

Most of the dead and the thousands wounded were unarmed civilians against whom Israel was using excessive force.

The National Committee of the Great March of Return said the protests would not end until the world listens to the Palestinians' legitimate demand for returning to their homeland and breaking the siege on Gaza.
