'Ankara opposes the US' anti-Iran sanctions and our cooperation with Iran in energy, tourism and transportation should get promoted,' Çavuşoğlu told a group of Turkish parliament members.
He said getting Azerbaijan involved, Iran and Turkey can continue cooperation in campaign against terrorism.
'Iran is a good neighbor and important trade partner and undoubtedly, the US' sanctions on Iran will leave adverse consequences on the trade; however, Ankara tries to upgrade cooperation with Tehran, Asia and Europe to ease the devastating effects of the sanctions,' he opined.
The US President Donald Trump announced early May that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions, which had been lifted under the accord.
The first round of the sanctions snapped back into place in August, with the second round, targeting the energy and oil sectors, took effect on November 5.
This is while other signatories to the deal (i.e. Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia) have thus far criticized Washington's unilateral move and repeatedly stressed their commitment to the deal.
