Diego Garcia Military Base Within Range of Iran’s Medium-Range Missiles and Drones

Based on its declared military capabilities, Iran certainly has enough weapons to attack the Diego Garcia military base. This is while a significant part of Iran's military capabilities is completely secret and is only revealed at the last moment to drown the enemy in waves of surprise.

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The military threats from the enemies of the Islamic Republic are presented in various forms every day. Recently, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that he would either reach an agreement with the Islamic Republic or bomb them in a way they have never seen before. This shameful and savage threat is worthy of reflection in its own right.

Diego Garcia Military Base Within Range of Iran’s Medium-Range Missiles and Drones

The most important equipment of the U.S. military currently consists of B-2 and B-52 bombers, which are used for heavy bombing of underground facilities. In contrast, Iran's military capability is incomparable to the countries the U.S. has engaged with so far and achieved one-sided victories against.

The U.S. B-2 bombers are a crucial part of the country's strategic aircraft, deployed for difficult conditions; the estimated cost of each B-2 bomber exceeds $2 billion. The U.S. Navy and Air Force possess between 20 to 22 of these bombers.

Currently, it is estimated that 7 to 10 of these bombers are stationed at the "Diego Garcia" base in the "Chagos" region of the Indian Ocean. Reports indicate that the U.S. has tried to keep these strategic bombers outside the range of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force's missiles to prevent the destruction of its aircraft in missile attacks and, given the stealth capability of these bombers, to arrange a successful airstrike.

The main question is: What is the closest distance between Diego Garcia and Iran's borders, and how feasible is the idea of a long-range airstrike? The closest point from Iranian soil to the Chagos region (where Diego Garcia is located) is approximately 3,800 kilometers away, and flying this distance to conduct a successful airstrike, given Iran's numerous defense systems, including the "15 Khordad" and "Bavar 373," seems far-fetched. However, assuming this scenario, Iran has decisive plans to counter the U.S. and British militaries.

One of the most important scenarios Iran could employ is a direct drone attack using advanced "Shahed 136" drones, which have a range of about 4,000 kilometers—precisely matching the distance to the Diego Garcia military base. Previous tests have shown that this drone can handle strategic and sensitive missions.

Using ballistic and cruise missiles at close ranges to this military base, as well as missiles that can surprise the enemy under specific conditions, are other options available to Iran. The optimized ballistic missiles "Khorramshahr" can strike key targets at Diego Garcia. Additionally, massive combat vessels carrying cruise missiles in the Indian Ocean can hunt down desired targets.

Therefore, based on the declared military capabilities, Iran certainly possesses sufficient weaponry to attack the Diego Garcia military base. Meanwhile, a significant portion of our country's military capabilities remains entirely secret and will only be unveiled at the critical moment to overwhelm the enemy with waves of surprise.

In the event of a ping-pong clash between Iran and the U.S., the strategic assets of the U.S. Air Force and Navy would face certain destruction, assets estimated to be worth around 14 to 20 billion on Diego Garcia alone, not to mention the 4,000 U.S. soldiers present at this military base who may be spending the last days of their lives.
