TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced that Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed during the first round of talks in Doha to immediately stop the fighting and establish a ceasefire.
According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the two sides have also agreed to hold follow-up meetings to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire.
In its statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry expressed hope that this step will help reduce tensions on the border between the two brotherly countries.
Meanwhile, an Afghan government source told Al Jazeera that the second round of Afghanistan-Pakistan talks in Doha will continue until Sunday.
Also, the Pakistani Defense Minister, confirming the ceasefire agreement between his country and Afghanistan, said that Pakistani and Afghan delegations will meet again on October 25 in Istanbul to review the details of the ceasefire agreement.
He added: The process of terrorist acts that had spread from Afghan soil into Pakistan will be stopped immediately.
The Pakistani Defense Minister thanked Qatar and Turkey for what he called "participation in the mediation efforts between Islamabad and Kabul."
