TEHRAN (Defapress) - Australian police have announced that the Sydney-based Bondi Beach terrorists traveled to the Philippines to attend ISIS training and carry out terrorist attacks in Sydney.

New South Wales Police Chief Mal Lanyon said on Tuesday: "Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid, 50, had recently traveled to the Philippines. Homemade explosives and two homemade ISIS flags were found in a car registered to Naveed and parked at the scene of the shooting on Sunday."
The Australian Prime Minister also noted: "The father and son accused of the Bondi attack received orders from ISIS, and police are investigating the two men's trip to the Philippines last month. The reasons for their trip to the Philippines and where they went are under investigation."
Anthony Albanese told reporters: “There is clear evidence that the terrorists took orders from ISIS.”
The attack on Sydney’s waterfront killed 15 people and injured 25 others. Naveed was arrested at the scene and taken to Sydney Hospital with serious injuries, but his father was shot dead by police.
Naveed, who was a construction worker in Australia, came to the attention of Australian security services in October 2019. Albanese said on Monday that he had been under surveillance for six months for suspected links to ISIS cells but was ultimately deemed not to be a threat.
