Zarif Lashes out at Bolton’s Anti-Iran PenchantZarif has taken on the popular social media meme ‘#10YearChallenge’ on Twitter by posting two pictures about the US national security adviser’s never-changing penchant for striking Iran.

“Same bull. Same bully. Same delusion,” wrote Zarif in a tweet on Friday, followed by an attached image of two pictures together. One, a screenshot of an Op-Ed written by John Bolton back in 2009, with the title, ‘Time for an Israeli Strike?’ in which he had argued for military force against Tehran to be carried out by the Israeli regime, and the other, another screenshot of a report posted on 16th January 2019, with the headline reading ‘Bolton Asked Pentagon for Plans to Strike Iran.’

The Iranian top diplomat capped off the tweet with #10YearChallenge – a popular social media meme in which people post two photos side-by-side to show the changes that have occurred between 2009 and 2019.

Earlier on January 07, Zarif, in a post accompanying a photo of Bolton wearing virtual reality (VR) glasses on his Twitter page, lashed out at US policies in the Middle East, asserting that even VR goggles are useless for those who are blind to regional realities.

“It's said a picture says a thousand words. This picture, however, says more than a thousand words about decades of failed US policies in our region. In the valley of the blind, even those with VR glasses are still blind,” wrote Zarif in a tweet.

His tweet was in reaction to a picture showing US national security adviser John Bolton and a group of others wearing virtual reality goggles during a visit to the holy site of the Western Wall in East al-Quds, which Palestinians want as the capital of their future state.

In a related front, Zarif posted a tweet on December 13, saying that the US government has been the main supporter of the misery-bringers in the region, from Saddam to the ISIL.

“The US and (its) allies should cease their hypocritical absurdities about Iran's missiles and regional ‘behavior’. Facts speak for themselves,” he said.

“It's they who sell $100s of billions in arms to butcher Yemenis and it's they and their clients—NOT Iran—who're responsible for miseries from Saddam to ISIS,” Zarif highlighted, criticizing the US government for favoring the countries which buy the most of US arms.
