TEHRAN (Defapress) - Citing Al-Mayadeen, the Zionist media, Walla, has announced that the population growth rate in the occupied territories in 2024 has seen a significant decline, dropping from 1.6% in 2023 to 1.1% this year. The website cited the complex security situation as the main factor behind the increase in emigration from the occupied territories and emphasized that in 2024, at least 82,700 people have left Israel, while only 23,800 have entered these territories. Additionally, the number of new immigrants has decreased by approximately 15,000.
According to the definition provided by the Statistics Bureau of the occupied territories, an emigrant is someone who spends at least 9 consecutive months of the year outside these territories.
A new report by the Research and Information Center of the Knesset of the Zionist regime also shows that the average number of people fleeing the occupied territories annually between 2009 and 2021 was around 36,000. However, this figure has seen a significant increase since the beginning of 2022, rising by 46% to 55,300. In 2024, this number has increased by 50%, reaching 82,700.
Regarding immigration to the occupied territories, statistics indicate that between 2019 and 2023, approximately 200,000 people immigrated to these territories. However, this number has decreased in 2024, dropping to 32,281. This is while the number of immigrants in 2023 was 47,013.
Oded Forer, a member of the Knesset of the Zionist regime, stated that the Gaza war and the growing hatred toward the Zionist cabinet, which Israel describes as "anti-Semitism," are among the main reasons for the decline in immigration to the occupied territories. He also added that most of the immigrants entering these territories are from former Soviet Union countries, while the number of immigrants from Western countries is far lower than expected.
