Guardian Report on the Torture of Palestinian Prisoners in Israeli Prisons

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Guardian revealed in an exclusive report that the Israeli regime has imprisoned dozens of Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip in an underground prison called Rakefet, which is attached to the Ayalon prison. These Palestinian prisoners are deprived of sunlight or contact with the outside world.

The report states that, according to legal institutions, these Palestinian prisoners are being held in conditions of deliberate torture. For example, among them are a nurse and a food vendor who is only 18 years old; civilians who have not been charged with any crimes. They are beaten, like other detention centers of the Israeli regime.

The report further emphasizes that the prison was built in the 1980s to hold members of Zionist criminal gangs. The notorious prison was closed, but reopened after Operation Storm al-Aqsa on the orders of Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security. Ben-Gvir has repeatedly boasted about the mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners. They are subjected to beatings, attacks by dogs, and are denied adequate medical care and food.
