Kamalvandi made the remarks during his address to the 3rd High-level Seminar on International Nuclear Cooperation in Brussels on Monday.
The Iranian official expressed his deepest gratitude to European entities, the European Commission, the European External Action Service, as well as the Directorate General for Energy, for hosting the event in Brussels.
Kamalvandi then reviewed the achievements of the former seminars, namely the first edition which was held in Brussels and the second edition which was held in Iranian historic city of Isfahan
He reminded that the first edition was focused on “Expectations and Responsibilities” and the second edition was on reviewing “Progress and Prospect” of the cooperation to implement a crucial part of the JCPOA.
"I should mention two other important seminars held in between subsequently in Moscow and Beijing which we are very much appreciative of our friends both in Russia and China." he added.
"I have no doubt that holding these series of seminars with the active cooperation of the denoted parties to the JCOPA, represents the importance of implementation of Annex III of the JCPOA which is one 2 of the main pillars of the nuclear deal," he added.
He then underlined that one of the major concerns of the international community is the fate of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which was signed by Iran and Sextet (the US, the US, France ,Russia , China, and Germany) on July 14, 2015.
"The JCPOA is a significant and important hard-won multilateral deal which took the parties from all sides many years and a long process of tough negotiations to reach," Kamalvandi highlighted.
He then emphasized that 13 consecutive IAEA reports have verified Iran's full compliance with the JCPOA since the agreement went into effect in January 2016.
"After the withdrawal of the US from the JCPOA, incumbent US administration re-imposed savage (cruel), unlawful and inhuman sanctions ever against Iran including in a hypocritical manner importation to Iran of medicine by putting the relevant importing and exporting companies on the list of sanctions," he lashed out at US President Trump's anti-Iran policies.
he recounted that Iran's banking and energy sectors have been sanctioned by the US with the aim of cutting off Iran's oil sales and exports.
"The international community has widely condemned the US move to re-impose unlawful sanctions against Iran and the violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorses the JCPOA," Kamalvandi maintained.
He voiced regret that Trump's measures have placed in serious jeopardy the fate of this valuable and unique science-diplomacy achievement.
"Trump Administration is challenging not only the Iranian nation but also the entire international community by openly adopting unilateral policies of denial regardless of its commitments as a responsible state," the Iranian official added.
