TEHRAN (Defapress) - Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Fuaad Hussein, and Bassam Al-Sabbagh, Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, and Syria, held a trilateral meeting in Baghdad.
According to the statement, the meeting addressed the challenges facing the region in general and the recent security developments in Syria in particular.
The foreign ministers of the three countries pointed out the dangers of the events in Syria and their sensitivity for all parties in the region and the possibility of their expansion, which will pose a severe danger to the three countries and a threat to the security of nations and the entire region.
The three foreign ministers condemned terrorism in its various forms, which the Security Council has identified as terrorist groups, and stressed the need for collective action to confront it.
The joint statement of Iraq, Syria, and Iran states that we agreed to continue consultations and coordination on the developments in Syria and to prepare for future developments.
The statement clarified that the threat to Syria’s security is a threat to regional stability.
The statement said that there is no option other than coordination and diplomatic consultation to avert all risks of escalating tensions in the region.
