TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the ongoing brutality of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian people and the complete siege of the Gaza Strip have prompted Yemen's Ansar Allah movement to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians by preventing ships affiliated with this regime from passing through Yemeni waters.
In this regard, Jamal Amer, Yemen's Foreign Minister, sent a letter to the Secretary-General and members of the United Nations Security Council, the President of the General Assembly, the Secretaries-General of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, the European Union's Special Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and all member states of the United Nations regarding Yemen's decision to ban the passage of ships belonging to the Zionist regime.
The letter stated: Due to the Zionist regime's refusal to implement the ceasefire agreement signed with Hamas and its announcement to halt humanitarian aid and close the crossings to the Gaza Strip, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's revolution, on March 7, 2025, gave mediators 4 days to ensure that the Zionist regime allows aid to enter the residents of the Gaza Strip. Otherwise, the Yemeni Armed Forces will resume naval blockade operations against the Zionist enemy.
He added: Given the Zionist regime's intransigence and the lack of progress in the Doha negotiations, this ban came into effect on the night of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, and the prohibition on the passage of Israeli regime ships in the designated operational zone, including the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, was implemented.
He also emphasized that only Israeli regime ships that violate the warning will be targeted, and the action announced by the Yemeni Armed Forces is the first step. If the enemy does not cease the blockade and starvation of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, all options remain on the table.
