U.S. Military’s Challenge Against Warhorse Yemenis

Reports from Yemeni sources indicate that the distance between the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and Yemen is less than 1000 kilometers; this has allowed Yemeni anti-ship and precision-guided missiles to target the vessel.

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Despite more than 45 days of war and aggression against Yemen, the U.S. military has failed to achieve its objectives. One of the apparent advantages the U.S. military had over the Ansar Allah movement was the presence of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, but even this advantage has been lost in the past week.

Field reports indicate that the U.S. has conducted over 1,200 airstrikes in the past 40-plus days, with no outcome other than failure.

Recent field reports also reveal that U.S. airstrikes in the past week have faced serious disruptions, as Yemeni forces have employed new tactics to counter American fighter jets. This has not only called into question the effectiveness of the USS Harry S. Truman but has also caused severe problems for U.S. aircraft during takeoff and landing.

In this context, an F/A-18 Super Hornet belonging to the U.S. military crashed into the Red Sea in the past week, with multiple media outlets reporting on the incident.

Fox News reported: "The USS Harry S. Truman lost this fighter jet along with its tow while operating in the Red Sea."

According to the U.S. Navy, the aircraft was being towed in the hangar when the crew lost control, causing both the jet and its tow to plunge into the sea. Sailors involved in the towing operation took immediate action to distance themselves from the jet before it crashed.

Fox News also reported that one sailor sustained minor injuries in the incident, and investigations are ongoing. The estimated cost of an F/A-18 Super Hornet ranges between 67.4 million to 70 million.

CNN reported that the USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying destroyers executed evasive maneuvers to avoid Yemeni-fired missiles, which led to the loss of control over the aircraft tow, ultimately causing it to slip and fall into the sea.

It appears that CENTCOM and the U.S. naval fleet are struggling to advance their objectives in Yemen. Field reports indicate that the USS Harry S. Truman has positioned itself at the northernmost point relative to Yemeni ports in an attempt to stay out of range of Yemeni missiles and drones.

Yemeni sources report that the USS Harry S. Truman is currently less than 1,000 kilometers from Yemen, making it a potential target for Yemen’s precision-guided anti-ship missiles.

The end of this war remains uncertain, but what is clear is the failure of the U.S. Navy in the past week to conduct heavy bombardments on Yemeni positions. The battle-hardened Yemenis have learned how to counter the U.S.’s expensive fighter jets.
