TEHRAN (Defapress) - After a closed-door meeting, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu attended a joint press conference with reporters. Trump initially announced that he welcomed the return of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, to the White House and considered it a significant event. He also stated that he had good discussions with Netanyahu.

Iran Is a Very Powerful Country

Trump emphasized that the relationship between the United States and Israel will be stronger than ever and that the bond between the two sides has been solid over many years and will not be broken.

My only demand from Iran is that it does not have nuclear weapons

Regarding Iran, Trump said: Addressing Iran, which is listening carefully, I say: I would like to reach a great agreement, an agreement that allows you to continue living and thriving. You will definitely thrive. The people of Iran are amazing, hardworking, beautiful, and truly an incredible group. I know them well. I have many friends from Iran, and many of my American friends are originally from Iran and are very proud of Iran. Just so you know, I hated doing this [signing the maximum pressure note] and I hope we can prevent this situation from turning into a disaster. I don’t want that to happen. I sincerely desire peace and hope we can achieve this goal.

The U.S. President added: But they should not have nuclear weapons. This is very clear. I am not setting any limits, but one thing is undeniable: they should not have nuclear weapons, and if I even think they are seeking to obtain nuclear weapons, despite all I have said, I think there will be very bad consequences for them. But on the other hand, if they can convince us that they do not have such intentions—and I hope they can—this is very easy, really very easy. In that case, I think an incredible future awaits them.

Residents of Gaza should be relocated

In another part of his speech, he claimed that the October 7 attack would never have happened if he were president. Trump also thanked Netanyahu for cooperating with his envoy, Steve Witkoff, and said that his meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister focused on "the future, the destruction of Hamas, and the restoration of peace."

Trump claimed that the only reason Palestinians remain in Gaza is the lack of an alternative. He expressed hope that the ceasefire in Gaza would be the beginning of lasting peace in the region. Trump also announced that the U.S. has withdrawn from the Human Rights Council, which he said is anti-Semitic.

He described Gaza as a devastated place and said that its residents could be relocated to other areas to live in peace. He claimed that the U.S. desires peace and stability for Arab and Islamic countries.

Later, Benjamin Netanyahu, in his remarks, called Trump the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the history of the White House. He considered Trump's withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran a logical move and noted that under Trump's leadership, Israel succeeded in signing four peace agreements with Arab countries.

The Israeli Prime Minister also claimed: that Israel is fighting common enemies and is changing the face of the Middle East. He claimed that Israel has destroyed Hamas, Hezbollah, and part of Bashar al-Assad's remaining weapons in Syria.

Netanyahu further claimed that Israel is stronger than ever and that the "axis of terrorism led by Iran" is weaker than ever. He claimed that the leaders of armed groups have been eliminated and that Israel has managed to destroy enemies on the U.S. terrorist list.

He also stated that Trump's leadership has helped in the release of hostages and the lifting of restrictions on sending weapons to Israel. Netanyahu added that he and Trump share a common understanding about Iran, which he said has attempted to assassinate him.

Meanwhile, Trump also reported on efforts to release more hostages but said that the other side is very complicated. He emphasized that he cannot guarantee that the ceasefire in Gaza will continue but expressed hope that it would. He also mentioned that the U.S. will do what is necessary in Gaza and intends to develop the region.

Later, Netanyahu said that Trump has a different vision for the future of Gaza and that his proposal for the U.S. to manage the region is worthy of attention. Trump also announced that he will remove all hostages from Gaza and that if the agreement collapses, tougher measures will be taken.

Trump reported on the possibility of recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank but said that no decision has been made yet. He claimed that many leaders have welcomed the idea of U.S. control over Gaza.
