TEHRAN (Defapress) - The global Sumud fleet, which was set off with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, has entered a critical stage in recent days. External pressures and threats have made the situation of this naval convoy even more critical than before, and concerns about its fate have increased sharply and alarmingly.
Based on information obtained from the latest status of the global Sumud fleet, one of the members of this convoy announced that the ships have stopped at a certain point on the route. He emphasized that in these circumstances, a "red status" has been declared in the fleet, and all passengers are on full alert. This decision was made due to the increased possibility of collision and confrontation with the forces of the Israeli regime.
If we want to take a look at the current status of the global Sumud fleet, we should point out that to date, more than 40 ships and boats from various ports in European countries, including Spain, Italy, and Greece, as well as other countries such as Tunisia and Morocco, are present in this convoy and are on their way to the Gaza Strip intending to break the cruel siege of this strip imposed by the Zionist regime.
On the other hand, an issue that has further defined the importance and position of the global Sumud fleet is the presence of between 500 and 700 social, media and civil activists from more than 40 countries on these relief ships. An issue that, in turn, has exposed the inclusiveness and breadth of the global movement to break the siege of the Gaza Strip to the leaders and officials of the Zionist regime and its permanent ally, the United States.
Another important issue is the location and route of the global Sumud fleet. The ships of the global fleet of "Samoud" are currently temporarily stationed in the ports of "Sidi Bou Said", "Gammarth", and "Bizerte" in Tunisia, until the final movement towards Gaza is made after the preparations are completed. However, adverse weather conditions have caused these ships and boats to be delayed for the time being.
However, the global fleet of Sumud faces numerous threats and security issues along its route. Accordingly, the extensive flight of Israeli reconnaissance drones over the ships has created significant security pressure. An example of this is the drone attack on one of the large ships of the fleet in the port of "Sidi Bou Said", which was reported a few days ago; of course, the fire on the deck was contained, and the situation is generally under control. Additionally, some ships have been taken out of service due to technical or engine issues.
Meanwhile, the will and strategy of the organizers have so far thwarted the plans and schemes of the Zionist enemy. Accordingly, it must be said that despite threats, delays, and security pressures, the officials of the Sumud fleet continue to insist on continuing the route. In addition, there is a specific and written plan for the ships to converge from Tunisia and other European ports and make the final move towards Gaza in coordination.
Finally, given today's conditions, it seems that the path forward for the Sumud fleet will be accompanied by more challenges. A forced stop could prolong the time for aid to reach Gaza and, at the same time, increase the risk of direct conflict with the Zionist regime. Meanwhile, the activists of the convoy continue to insist on continuing their mission and have announced that they will not back down under pressure and threats.
