TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Sputnik News Agency, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, along with 21 countries, issued a joint statement expressing their clear opposition to the Zionist regime's action in recognizing Somaliland.

The statement, which was signed by several Arab and Islamic countries, including Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, emphasized that the Zionist regime's announcement of recognizing Somaliland in the Federal Republic of Somalia is categorically rejected.
The statement continued: This action is strongly condemned, as it is a clear violation of the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, which emphasizes the preservation of the sovereignty of countries and their unity and territorial integrity.
The countries mentioned in the statement stressed their full support for the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and rejected any action that would undermine the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Somalia over its entire territory.
It is worth noting that on Friday, the Zionist regime recognized the Somaliland region in Somalia as an independent country.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that the regime and Somaliland have signed an agreement to establish full diplomatic relations, which includes appointing ambassadors and opening embassies.
He said: This agreement was reached after a year of talks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video conference call with Somaliland separatist leader Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, invited him to visit the occupied territories.
In this call, the Israeli Prime Minister called the agreement with Somaliland an excellent opportunity to expand cooperation.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office also announced in a statement that the agreement with Somaliland was made within the framework of the Abraham Accords.
The Israeli media had previously announced Somaliland as one of the options considered by the regime for the forced displacement of Palestinians living in Gaza.
Somaliland separatists declared their independence from Somalia in 1991, but none of the United Nations member states have recognized them so far. Somaliland separatists control the northern part of Somalia.
