TEHRAN (Defapress) - Recent developments in the region, from the suspension of Iran-US negotiations to the escalation of conflicts in southern Lebanon, have created a new political and security atmosphere. In Lebanon as well, the government's positions and the internal situation, alongside the war and field developments, have sparked extensive debates. In this regard, the Defapress correspondent interviewed Zeinab Farhat, an expert for the Lebanese Nabaa television network.

She began her remarks by saying: It might be possible to say that the negotiations between Iran and the United States through Pakistan's mediation have not completely failed, and perhaps the next round of talks will be held in the coming days. The Iranians do not give the enemy a quick concession in the matter of negotiation. The 2015 negotiations were not signed until Iran's national and patriotic interests were secured and lasted for two years. I believe that on this current path, based on the same principle, Iran will not concede to the enemy.
Farhat added: The American side suffered painful blows from Iran in the forty-day war. American bases in the region were targeted, and the US and Israel were practically defeated, but without considering the military results and the consequences they have so far faced, they behave contradictorily on the ground. Trump deals with Iran using a logic of thievery. He fumbles in the negotiations to deprive Iran of uranium enrichment and to obtain enriched uranium for himself.
The Nabaa television network expert continued: Iranian officials emphasized before the negotiations in Islamabad that stopping the war in Lebanon is one of the main conditions of the negotiation. By doing this, Iran first set about supporting and protecting Lebanon and the Lebanese people. With this condition, the Iranians tried to maintain the unity of the fronts.
Stating that Hezbollah fighters are engaged in an Ashura-like battle with the enemy, she said: The enemy has besieged Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, and tens of thousands of Zionist soldiers are present there. Hezbollah is heroically waging jihad against these occupying forces to prevent them from advancing, and indeed, all eyes are fixed on this city.
Regarding the position of the Lebanese government, Farhat added: Sometimes, what we hear from the statements of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is regrettable and shameful. It seems that the two of them work more for the benefit of the occupiers than for the Lebanese people. They have no problem with the continuation of the war and are indifferent and submissive to the enemy's decisions and will.
The Nabaa television network expert, stating that Lebanese Shiites and Lebanese people have a doctrinal and cultural affiliation with Iran, recalled: In a post on my Facebook account, I wrote: How strange! Instead of the government, Iran defends Lebanon's rights and interests and those of the Lebanese people, and postpones the agreement in the Islamabad negotiations because of the non-cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
Farhat emphasized: Currently, the political scene is very complex and intertwined. The occupation of Lebanon will be the cornerstone of the Greater Israel project in the region. If southern Lebanon falls, Israel will dominate the south and then all of Lebanon, and in the coming years, this dominance will reach Turkey and the Persian Gulf countries. The Greater Israel project is a very dangerous project. Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Lebanese, especially the Shiites in the south, are fighting a global project. The youth of Hezbollah are defending the honor and dignity of all Arabs, Arabs who watch what is happening at the hands of the enemy, do nothing, and do not move the cards of power they hold. Hezbollah is erasing this shame. If it were not for Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, and the PMF, the shame would have clung to the Arabs forever.
She added: This historic battle will lead to the formation of a new phase. We have entered a new phase; in the past, even in the wars that Lebanon experienced, we had not witnessed this volume of American-Zionist crowding. The obstinacy of the occupiers and their insistence on continuing the war in Lebanon is not in vain; the Zionists have a project to dominate Lebanon and consider the current conditions favorable for the realization of this project. Unfortunately, the stances taken by Lebanese officials harm Lebanon's interests and give complete legitimacy to the Zionist enemy to continue shedding the blood of Lebanese, especially Shiites. Lebanese officials act as if they are not Lebanese at all. They cause trouble not only for themselves but for all Lebanese and Iranians.
Farhat stated: When the Iranians said that stopping the war in Lebanon is a condition of the negotiation, and Pakistan, European countries, and France also emphasized stopping the war in Lebanon for the negotiations to continue, the Lebanese government spoke out and said that we have nothing to do with this agreement and do not want anyone to negotiate on our behalf. With these words, the government wants to ignore Hezbollah, disarm it, and do a favor for Israel. The government showed its foolishness and political spite. Lebanese officials are not seeking a ceasefire. They only think about normalizing relations with Israel in the Camp David style to hand Lebanon over to the Zionist enemy for free and extend the political life of the occupiers.
The Nabaa television network expert concluded her remarks by saying: At the beginning of the Islamabad negotiations, Hezbollah and the Amal Movement were asked to leave the streets lest internal strife occur, because the enemy's media inside Lebanon began spreading lies that the Resistance groups were going to storm the Grand Serail (the presidential palace) and overthrow the government. These media falsely claimed that the Resistance groups had a plan to elect a president and start a civil war in the country. The enemy is trying to create a large internal rift within the Lebanese popular base and the various groups of society. We have not reached the stage of rising against the government, and we do not want the experience of the Hariri assassination to be repeated.
