TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the AFP news agency, the protesters chanted slogans such as "freedom for prisoners" and "no to the police state" to protest against the tightening of security controls by President Kais Saied.

The protesters condemned the heavy sentences in the case of "conspiracy against state security" and the 12-year prison sentence for Abir Moussa, the leader of the Free Constitution Party in Tunisia.
Tunisian lawyers and attorneys described the sentence as "political" and considered it part of the exploitation of the judicial system to eliminate political rivals.
They emphasized that Abir Moussa is also facing other cases brought against her based on controversial laws such as "Regulation 54" on combating "fake news".
The protesters also strongly criticized the decree "Law 54", which opponents say is used to restrict freedom of expression.
Participants carried pictures of several imprisoned politicians and activists and emphasized that the reduction of freedoms has united different political spectrums.
