TEHRAN (Defapress) - The US government has approved the sale of a huge arms package worth $8.6 billion to the Zionist regime and its allies in the Persian Gulf. This decision was made at a time when it was Washington and Tel Aviv that started the war with massive attacks on Iranian soil, and are now seeking to compensate for their weakness by arming their allies more in the wake of the powerful missile and drone responses of the Iranian armed forces.

$8.6 Billion in US Arms Sales to Arab Allies During Military Silence

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has accelerated these arms transfers without any review by Congress, citing “emergency circumstances” and claiming national security interests.

According to the US State Department, the details of this arms package are as follows:

Transfer of the APKWS precision-guided weapon system and related equipment to Israel for $992 million; Purchase of combat command and control systems by Kuwait for $2.5 billion, which will significantly enhance the country’s air detection and radar capabilities; Approval of the sale of the APKWS system, along with the replenishment of the Patriot missile defense system stockpile to Qatar for nearly $5 billion;  Sale of the APKWS system to the United Arab Emirates for $148 million.

The Patriot system is one of the most advanced air defense systems in the world, designed to intercept incoming missiles, rockets, and drones. In contrast, APKWS provides the ability to convert unguided rockets into precision and intelligent munitions, increasing the operational accuracy of the air force.

The new arms sales follow a $16.5 billion package last month to the UAE, Kuwait, and Jordan, which included combat drones, advanced missiles, radar systems, and F-16 fighter jets. The massive arms shipment to the Gulf states comes as the brutal and widespread attacks by the Zionist and US regimes on Iranian soil, infrastructure, and civilian centers since the start of the regional war have severely depleted the arms stockpiles of Israel and the countries affiliated with the Arab-Hebrew axis. The brutal attacks, accompanied by widespread bombing and the indiscriminate use of US ammunition, have not only claimed the lives of thousands of Iranian civilians but have also severely strained the region’s air defense systems.

However, the unprecedented and indiscriminate use of US ammunition in this unequal war has raised deep concerns in Washington’s military circles. A report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) released last month clearly states that pre-war ammunition stocks were inadequate and that current US stockpiles have been reduced to such an extent that, in the event of any serious conflict with a power like China, US forces’ operations would be severely limited and even paralyzed. The report specifically warned of a possible war scenario over Taiwan and stressed that Washington may not be able to provide for two fronts at the same time.

Ultimately, this new round of US arms sales not only demonstrates Washington’s unconditional support for its regional Hebrew-Arab partners but also reveals the depth of the strategic helplessness of America’s declining hegemony. While the Islamic Republic of Iran has withstood the massive and ruthless aggression of the US and the Zionist regime in the imposed Ramadan war with its intelligent and powerful resistance, the West, by injecting billions of dollars in arms, is only seeking to prolong the war and preserve its crumbling hegemony.
