Russia Renews Commitment to JCPOAIn a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart on Friday evening, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov underlined that Moscow would remain fully committed to the JCPOA, the nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

It came after European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel, and France’s top diplomat Jean-Yves Le Drian emphasized the necessity for all parties to the nuclear deal to remain committed to the accord, in separate telephone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Concerns have been growing in recent weeks that the US administration unilaterally scraps the JCPOA.

In a Friday speech, US President Donald Trump is expected to decertify the multilateral agreement.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as E3+3) reached the 159-page nuclear accord in July 2015 and implemented it in January 2016.
