TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Defapress correspondent report, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated on the sidelines of the 8th Conference on the History of Iran's Foreign Relations: Iran's Foreign Policy in the Persian Gulf Throughout History, in a gathering of journalists: "Qatar is one of the highly influential countries in the Persian Gulf region. Our relations with Qatar are extensive and longstanding, and high-level exchanges have always been ongoing between the 2 countries."

Araghchi added: "The last time, President Pezeshkian was in this country for an international meeting, and we also had a bilateral meeting. Following these meetings, the Emir of Qatar will come to Tehran tomorrow, and there are very important political, economic, and strategic discussions between the 2 countries that will be addressed tomorrow."

The Foreign Minister continued: "Tomorrow’s meeting will cover regional issues, particularly the issue of Palestine and Gaza, as well as the conspiracies that have recently been discussed regarding them. Additionally, regional matters such as Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen will be addressed."

He added: "In the economic sphere, relations between the 2 countries are growing, and we have very important and key projects on our agenda, which will also be discussed in this meeting."

Araghchi stated: "The rumors suggesting that the Emir of Qatar is carrying a message for Iran, in my view, have no value. The Emir of Qatar is a distinguished figure who is coming to Iran to advance bilateral relations, and we will continue this successful path in the relations between the 2 countries."

The Foreign Minister emphasized: "Regarding conspiracies and Trump's plan for Palestine, the first thing that must be done is for all Islamic countries and the Muslim world to have a unified voice. In addition, all Islamic countries must take a united stance against the crimes of the Zionist regime and the brutal massacres that have taken place in Gaza so far."

He added: "In the next stage, all efforts of Islamic countries should be directed against the conspiracies aimed at displacing the people of Gaza from their homeland and forcing them into exile."

Araghchi continued: "Islamic countries have always taken a stance against the displacement of the Palestinian people. In fact, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was previously the Organization of the Islamic Conference, was originally established because of the Palestinian issue."

The Foreign Minister emphasized: "The issue of Palestine is a central discussion in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Following the talks about the forced displacement of the people of Gaza and their transfer to other countries, I have been in contact with other Islamic countries and have requested a meeting of the foreign ministers of Islamic countries to convey a unified stance, concern, and voice of the Islamic world to the global community."

He concluded by stating: "I hope that in the extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers, practical steps will also be decided in this regard. Political statements are one thing, but taking practical measures to prevent crimes against the Palestinian people is another crucial matter."
